This photography project explored the theme of ritual through a series of black-and-white photographs documenting familiar moments from my everyday life. I focused on quiet routines such as opening the curtains, picking herbs from the garden and reading, using these repeated actions to explore how ordinary habits can create comfort, meaning and connection. To introduce a performative element, I used dramatic gestures and expressive body positioning, transforming simple actions into theatrical and visually engaging moments. The exaggerated poses emphasise the movement and intention behind each ritual while creating a sense of narrative across the series. I edited and refined the photographs using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, enhancing the monochrome tones, contrast and film-like grain to create a cohesive, dramatic and reflective visual style. This project strengthened my skills in photography, composition, lighting, image editing and visual storytelling.
